2017 CROSS-COUNTRY FIXTURES

Following on from a very successful first half of the club winter season that finished this weekend, we are busy making plans for the second half after Christmas and New Year which includes all the major championships. This opens with the county championships on Saturday 7th January (Kent - Brands Hatch, Surrey - Croydon, Middlesex - Hillingdon). The club will make a block entry for Kent qualified athletes however those wishing to run in any other county championship must make their own entry.

January 21st sees the county schools championships for Kent at Dover and Surrey at Reigate whilst the London Schools take place 10 days later on 1st February at Wormwood Scrubs. Entry for these races is through your school and/or district.

The South of England Championships take place at Parliament Hill, Hampstead on Saturday 28th January and the club will enter everyone who has competed in any 2016/7 cross-country race. All entrants can run with the first four home in each race being the scoring team.

Early February will see many London Boroughs holding their mini-marathon trials, the Bromley borough trials will take place as part of the Crystal Palace parkruns, please check with your local organiser for details of other boroughs,

February 11th is the date of the SE Schools Inter-Counties races scheduled to be hosted by Kent (probably Brands Hatch).

Then follows the major club fixture of the winter the English National Cross-Country Championships to be held at Wollaton Park, Nottingham on Saturday 25th February. The club has organised a coach and 2 night half board stay at at the same 4 star hotel with swimming pool we used in Nottingham last year. Half of our accommodation has already been reserved following the initial letter in September and the remaining rooms are available for reservation with a £25 per person deposit, with a balance of £100 payable by 10th February 2017. Any rooms not reserved by 31st December will be offered to coaches and parents. If the rooms are oversubscribed then priority will be given to those athletes wanting 2 nights accommodation.

A reminder to a small number of you that the whilst the club subsidises race entries there is still a fee of £18 to be paid to cover all the winters races and athletes will not be eligible to reserve places at the National unless these have been paid.

The season finishes in March with the Inter-Counties at a new venue near Loughborough and the English Schools returning to the Norfolk Showground near Norwich.

Outstanding Entry fees (£18) or deposits for Nottingham (£25) can be paid to the club account online, but you must also advise us that payment has been made. Payments should be made as follows:
